I have'nt seen this before. Looks like some update in the autoconf set of
tools enforcing certain rules which were just guidelines earlier.. Can you
tell me what distribution of linux you are using, and also the version of
gcc and autoconf and automake.

Also, what happens if you ignore the error and proceed with compilation.
