When I play certain sounds, either wave files or
videos that have a sound track, asd plays the sound at
twice its normal speed. I have attached a sound file
that exhibits this characteristic when I run esdplay on it.
Most of the wave files I have on my system are played
at twice their normal speed - there are just a few
exceptions. There doesn't seem to be any pattern of
bit-depth or bir-rate to the sounds that play at the
wrong rate.
xmms always plays sound at the proper rate, but mplayer
and xine both play some of my videos at double the rate.
FYI, asdversion outputs
asd/0.2pre Lennart Poettering $Date: 2001/06/07 11:03:12 $
This sound plays at double its normal rate through asd.
