dusting off

figured i'd get back to work on this project, since it's been sitting here doing nothing for a while now.
So ...

I've downloaded the alpha release tarball and installed it, (my laptop having been rebuilt a number of times since the last time I worked on this project.)

I found some problems while installing which I've submitted to myself as bugs, and I will spend the next couple days trying to remember how to work sourceforge again as I upload the fixes to them.

And with that, the work begins again =)
