#5 Works 50% with scanimage, 100% w xsane

I am using an old DEXXA scanner (not a real Artec
AS6E). This may affect things...

Anyway: scanning works fine via as6edriver with xsane
as standalone application and also via gimp.

When scanning from the command line via scanimage it
works fine once. The next try fails, the next works
fine etc. After a successful scan, the next try fails,
but "fixes" something, so that the next succeeds again.
Quite strange but extremely repeatable.

This phenomenon has been observed on one computer, both
when running RedHat 9 and Fedora. This is the only
computer I have used for the scanner, so I don't know
if the problem might be hardware related.
