As a java / spring developer needing to do some flash coding for a while, and having to support flash player 8, I'm absolutely loving as2lib. Great job simon, I'm amazed that you actually wrote your own AOP framework, you must be smoking funny bananas and have a lot of guts and brains...very cool. (PS . would you like a job ;) )
I grabbed the latest code from the trunk of SVN . What's up with this source? The documentation is for version 9.1 and when I ant compile on the sources I get strange errors like
stever1975, since it looks like you and I are the only two people left on the planet using this stuff, we should get in touch for mutual support.
Also, I would love to know what Simon and Martin are currently working on over there in Euroland, other than watching the Euro song contest, drinking huge pints of German lager, and driving BMWs on the no speed limit autobahn.
Thanks,
PJ :)

Well ... I assume I should have put out a big message: We don't like to develop the as2lib anymore. Mostly because It was not exactly a success ... more like: We get once per quater-a-year basis response to our work.
Actually I still use the as2lib and sometimes I add a method - some minor place mostly.
I just don't like to write documentation and check for stuff like "is it working for anyone" if only I need to use it and fix a bug whenever I encounter one. Dy using it as much as I did in the past few months I found some serious leaks in its architecture that I would have done differntly in a new lib. Well - I assume you're supposed to get better - right?
Anyway: Simon (i just remember barly that I bought him his first book about AOP) now just started at the university and I started my own business just last month about flash, ajax, java, html and stuff(homepage in the works - or so). I didn't recognize Simon to drive BMW I never saw him actually drinking a beer. The Euro song contest completly hides from my eyesight and here in austria there are actually speed limits on the highway (not to assume that I drive a BMW).
To your problems:
We compiled the documentation always with the release. You can grab your own copy of "what-so-ever" tool to generate it to get the latest version. (we used some strage mac-based software - which we kinda hated but it made the best results).
I am not sure how many compile errors you get (since you just posted one). Actually this error message doesn't make sense anyway. Since ArgumentMatcher is a interface with 35 lines of code. Usually i check the version of mtasc and all related libs (all paths and stuff) before I start to reduce the usage until I found out which error it really is. I mean: Usually mtasc has some "feature" that is tricky. So maybe you wanna hunt me down on skype (mastakaneda) or try it with ICQ (117662935) to get some kinda direct support (not sure I wanna spend days with a problem but maybe I can help).

I really appreciate your lengthy answer. It's a shame that as2lib has died. It's by far the coolest library I have seen, either in the AS2 or AS2 world. I owe you a big thanks.
I wish I could help resurrect the project somehow and help others understand how great a tool this code is. But I fear that few people in the flash world truly understand the power of AOP, IoC, and other such concepts.
I'm fully committed to doing my current project with as2lib ( a videoplayer which will reach millions of people -- the backend is Spring / Hibernate). I'm working for a US startup company, so although I would never ask you to help me for free for any length of time, I _would_ be happy to pay for your time, esp. now that you are in the consulting business.
I will see if I can track you down on ICQ.
Again, many thanks to you and Simon for a great achievement.
Peder
