    Hi everyone!

I'd like to as if any of you ever ran into problems with the Analyze/Analyze Directory functions. Every time I try to do it, I get an error message (attached). This keeps happening on two different computers. I also checked with the example model - the same.

Best wishes and thanks in advance for your help!

    Hi Maciej,

Unluckily, i will not reply you usefully. I have an issue with the software that prevents to load 3d model (what ever file : .stl, .ply, .wrl) done in Metashape. Everytime, process is frozen during the "drawing" step. By chance, do you know why ?

    Hi Remy,

Since I am a relatively new user too, I probably won't help much. All I know is that the models must be fully watertight - no holes, borders, no non-manifold edges and vertices - but I'm sure you've already checked that. Besides that, a similar MATLAB-based app (Artifact GeoMorph Toolbox 3-D, see https://sourceforge.net/p/artifact-geomorph-toolbox-3d/discussion/general/) likes to have the scans named in a certain way: starting with letters, and no hyphens.

That's all I have, sorry I'm not able to be more helpful,
    Best wishes
    Maciej

      Hi Maciej,
I insist to thank you a lot. The points you highlighted seem to be very crucial and i will check them again. I wish you success with your issue.

    Hi Maciej and Remy,
Thank you for letting us know about these problems. For the Scar Panel's 'Analyze' error, there's a few common problems that might help. First, ensure that the setcurvature.exe file has been copied into the application folder, as per the instructions in the readme file on the sourceforge webpage. Second, run Artifact3-D in administrator mode. And third, make sure that the correct version of matlab runtime is installed in the MATLAB folder in your program files folder. For Artifact3-D, runtime v93 is needed.
And thank you Maciej for your advice to Remy. You're totally correct. Remy, did that help, or are you still having problems loading in a 3D model? Let us know how it goes.
    Thank you both,
    Comp Arch team.

      Hi,
Unfortunately, it did not. Still impossible to load model from Metashape (i tried different models, reduced size, all files extensions). Problem is the endless "drawing" step. It seems software doesn't work from Photogrammetry.

        Hi Remy,
I'm sorry it's still not working. If you email me (antoine.muller@mail.huji.ac.il) an example of a model that's not working I'll try to see if there's a way to remesh the model in a program like MeshLab so that it can work in Artifact3-D.
        Thanks,
        Comp Arch team

          Hi Remy,
Thanks for sending the model. It appears to be a scaling issue. The item you sent looks like its scaled in metres (the default in metashape), but Artefact3-D works in mm. When I measure the blade you sent in MeshLab (which treats scans as unitless, i.e. with whichever coordinates you import into the program), I get a length of about 0.04. So if the blade you sent is about 40mm, then I suspect your Metashape has exported the mesh in m.
Metashape should let you export your model in mm. Alternatively, you can use Blender to rescale your objects. Simply import your file and then re-export . To export, click file>export>stl or ply. Then in the window that appears there should be a Transform option on the right, under which you can change the Scale (default 1.0). If your model is in m, then set this value to 1000. Now that your model is scaled in mm, it should work in Artifact3-D.
I hope this helps. Let us know if it still won't load.
          All the best,
          Comp Arch team

            Hi,
Thank you so much for your help. As you highlighted, it was a scale problem. So it's definitely fixed.

            Respectfully
