Hi guys.

Have we decided on how we are going to do future releases?
I've made several preliminary changes (reducing compiler warnings
on win32 from a couple hundred to 10) that I would like to check in.

After that as time allows, I want to improve the test suite that 
make test
invokes.

Should I just check this stuff in?
