'lo listers Need some help. I want to install ARSPerl for Windows (XP Prof) on my PC. The only download I find is on the net is ARSperrl-1.91.tgz. It seems one has to have the ARS API kit installed, which I don't have. Is there a way around this? i.e. some PPM download, or other install methods? I use ActivateState 's Perl 5.8.9 Tom Roos Disclaimer http://www.shopriteholdings.co.za/pages/1019812640/disclaimer/E-mail-Disclaimer.asp |

You can download a ppm file from http://sourceforge.net/projects/arsperl/files/ Open the "All files -> arsperl -> 1.90" tree item and download "ARSperl_190_701.zip", which is ARSperl 1.90 compiled against the 7.0.1 ARS API, but should work nonetheless with a 7.1 server. If you want to compile 1.91 yourself, you do indeed need to have the ARS API libraries. Those are available at http://arswiki.org/projects/arapi Regards, Thilo Tom Roos wrote: > ‘lo listers > > Need some help. > > I want to install ARSPerl for Windows (XP Prof) on my PC. There are no "plans" about this. It would just need someone who does it. I probably won't do it myself, because I'm not normally using ActivePerl, so have no expertise about this. Moreover, I believe that a commercially licensed Visual C++ compiler (as opposed to the freely available Visual Studio Express) is necessary to create a redistributable package containing all necessary components. Of course, if anyone from the list creates the ppm package and sends it to jef...@us..., it will probably be uploaded. Hi all, I would like to point out there IS a compiles ppd version of ARSperl which includes the ARS API dll files. However, because the Remedy dlls are not open souce itself, they can not be hosted on sourceforge and I chose to put them on the BMC Developers Network. You'd need a (free) account to download it. Here's the link: http://developer.bmc.com/communities/docs/DOC-5262 The 1.90 ppd you found on sourceforge does NOT include the dlls. I'd suggest to use the 1.91 version from the BMC website.
