I'm happy enough using your version, but perhaps you should look
at getting arsperl into the CPAN archive?
If I recall correctly, that's the place where they're storing
all sorts of perl modules, so that you interface with as many C
APIs as possible with perl. (You may know this, or even know
more about it than I, but I just thought I'd say something about
it, just in case.)
