NS: http://armedbear.org/j.zip http://armedbear.org/j-jar.zip Starting with this snapshot, when you open a file via ssh/scp, you'll get a transcript of the session as it starts up. If things go well and the file or directory you specified is opened successfully, the buffer containing the transcript is automatically closed and replaced with the buffer containing the file or directory in question. If there's a problem, or if you cancel by hitting Escape, the transcript will remain visible (unless it's empty, in which case there's not much point in keeping it around). The idea is that the information in the transcript may be useful in determining why the connection failed, or you may want to paste it into a bug report... ;) In addition, the ssh/scp code has been refactored a bit so that j can recover more cleanly if a connection fails, or if a pending connection is cancelled. Finally, j now recognizes a line ending with '$', ':', '>', '#', '%' or ']' as a prompt indicating that the session has been successfully initialized, in the case where the remote host does not prompt for a password. You should arrange for your shell prompt on the remote server to end with one of these characters. Thanks for your support. -Peter |
