Hello

I'm trying to use Allegro Common Lisp with WindowsXP
to build ABCL. I've run into a problem with RUN-SHELL-
COMMAND. The function is always called with
a :DIRECTORY argument, but EXCL:RUN-SHELL-COMMAND in
Allegro CL takes no such keyword argument.

I tried removing the :DIRECTORY argument in the run-
shell-command function defined in build-abcl.lisp.
But this resulted in an error when the do-compile-
system function called
(setf status (run-shell-command "compile-system.bat"
:directory *build-root*))

The error was:
"starting shell command" resulted in
error "Input/output error"

I would appreciate it if you could tell me how to get
around this problem.

My email address is Land.D.Fleming@nasa.gov.

Thanks
