If I try to start this in a terminal window I see an error
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0"
I have just updated from 2005 and it was working fine in 2005.
Is there anything I can do to overcome this?
Sorry.. I didn't include all of the information I could.
Additional error messages include
Couldn't set video mode. Couldn't find matching GLX visual.
and at the end
Error:Error in bool sr_InitDisplay() in ../../src/render/rScreen.cpp:737 :
Sorry, played all my cards trying to initialize your video system.
Armagetron Advanced won't run on your computer. Reason:
Couldn't set video mode: Couldn't find matching GLX visual
I'll try again from the beginning, but the chances of success are minimal.
Hope I can get this running again.. great experience
It seems your X server is lacking 3D acceleration support (or we did something wrong, of course). Maybe Mandriva kicked out the driver support for your card for 2006? Both NVidia and ATI only supply closed source drivers, some distributors don't like that. It may be possible and required to install them from external repositories.
Do other 3d apps work? There should be a set of OpenGL screensavers available for testing.
I'll check for the drivers and get back.
my nx7010 (compaq) has an ati card and HP usually supports the open source bit so I suspect the mandriva upgrade missed on something as it was working fine in the 2005 LE release.
