Category: World Group: None >Status: Closed >Resolution: Fixed Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Snaketails (snaketails) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Stendhal: North Wall Pathfinding failure Initial Comment: I'm not sure if its just these rats, or all Bigger Monsters, but if you walk along the wall, they'll not follow, but if you walk along 1 tile away from the wall, then they'll follow you anywhere. They will attack you if you walk up to them, but not follow, even if the wall is a long straight section, as soon as you step 1 tile away, those within a certain range will begin to follow you. How'd I find this? I'm trying to lead about 10-15 G-rats to the cave entrance to that level :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Miguel Angel Blanch Lardin (arianne_rpg) Date: 2007-05-02 17:47 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=3949 Originator: NO This one is now fixed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: bcmpinc (bcmpinc) Date: 2006-04-22 20:20 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1374148 when hitting a wall to the north, the game starts lagging as hell. Probably because all pathing fails. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: bcmpinc (bcmpinc) Date: 2006-04-22 19:57 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1374148 When the tile north of the player isn't walkable no creature is able to find you. They even stop following and even freeze. with a wall to the south this trick won't work. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: bcmpinc (bcmpinc) Date: 2006-04-22 17:14 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1374148 I think this is a bug in the pathfinder algorithm. It can't find a path to the player because the rat can't stand with its upper-left tile right or left of the player, because it then collides with the wall. In this case its also a problem with the other bigger monsters. Probably the bigger creatures also try to stand with its upper-left part next to the player. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=101111&aid=1473985&group_id=1111 |
