Initial Comment:
Tiles are 32 pixels wide, but small characters
(players, NPCs, small monsters) are 48 pixels wide.
That's why such characters were not horizontally
centered inside a tile, but 8 pixels too far to the
right (8 + 32 + 8 = 48).

We currently can't fix this properly (i.e. change the
PNGs) because:
* we want to keep compatibility with RPG Maker 2000 format
* we have graphics that really make use of the full 48
pixels, e.g. oldmannpc.png
