Hi, I am very happy to say that code is now working on window too. Remember that this new code requiere new extras: - MySQL 3.x.x - MySQL++ 1.7.x Also you may need - OpenSSL to build the Crypto support. Also code on CVS has the next set of features: - New login procedure - Server init the conversation on net. - Crypto support added. I am going to continue starting with the Renderer plugin system. BTW it would be good that you try the app now on your systems. I would love to listen about the app compiling on a Windows free compiler. Hi, I have just commited code. It runs correctly on Windows so it should also run on Linux. Please verify it, I have added no new files. If it don't work, I would like to have a backtrace of the program and the application output. Regards, Miguel |

Please notice that you also need to delete worldfile.arianne and copy it from worldfile.arianne.template or similar name. Now my next step is to add something to add objects to the world on runtime. We have two options: - A command line tool - A localhost only connection to the server. I will go for command line just because it is easier to hack it without "damaging" too much the actual code structure. After adding that, we will have a better server and I will be able to code the Put and Get methods. I would love that anyone convert cerr messages of Database Handler into exceptions, so that database access can be robust. Regards, Miguel |

Deleting should do the trick, as this file gets correctly installed if not present. > Now my next step is to add something to add objects to the world on > runtime. If noone objects, I could have a shot at the database exceptions. You'll need a couple of days of patience tho. Guido |

It will be done in such a way that it would be extremly easy to replace it with a connection to the server later. To add exceptions to the database for me would be valid to do throw "text" instead of cerr. And it would be better to use Log class using gLog_Common or similar to write to screen because it it thread safe. Regards, Miguel |

Actually I was thinking of creating some real exception classes extending class Exception or is that not what you had in mind? > And it would be better to use Log class using gLog_Common or similar to > write to screen because it it thread safe. Yes, I intended to do something about the cout lines too. Guido |

Well, all Arianne exceptions works as you said. But whatever of the ways are ok. > > And it would be better to use Log class using gLog_Common or similar > to > > write to screen because it it thread safe. > > Yes, I intended to do something about the cout lines too. Just committed updated DatabaseHandler to CVS. There are 3 possible exceptions: - MYSQLConnectionException when unbale to connect to the MYSQL server - DatabaseException for general Database errors - QueryException when the query result (eg the number of rows return is different from what was expected) Any other messages are now logged using glog_Common. Good, I will add exception handling on Server now for Database. I will have finished the Command Line tool on Monday. Later I will modify the way to manage actions that will be join with perceptions and then, I will release Arianne ALPHA 2 Tech Preview 1. Later I will finish the Client and that will be Arianne ALPHA 2 After that, I will spend a bit of time writting documentation for Arianne. Then time to start to work on ALPHA 3, that time I hope ( unless Uli wants to consider it ) that there is no major recode. ALPHA 3 will be mainly ALPHA 2 + AI System + Bugs fixed + More actions + More Objects. Regards, Miguel |
