Performance is not limited by CPU, but by memory and bandwidth.
Anyway it is cheaper to buy 1 GB of RAM more than do the change you propose
P2P computation is only useful when you have HUGE amounts of data to be
transfered between clients that TRUST each other and the server DON'T NEED
to know about it.
This is not the case of Arianne, the server will contain the world image,
and will verify that no client will try to cheat each other.
The approach of cell that you talk about is now logically emulated on the
server, see actions and perceptions code...
