Hi all, I have been reading that LWJGL reached the 1.0 version ( http://www.lwjgl.org/index.php ) I think it could be a good think to move Stendhal to OpenGL using LWJGL as we would get a faster drawing tool, less CPU usage and we would be enforced to do the GUI ( as I think Swing doesn't work there ). The drawback is that if you don't have OpenGL you can't run Stendhal and that we would depend on a new library. I believe there is opengl built into lwjgl cause I dont have opengl and use lwjgl all the time. Also... I have used easyway game engine... works quite well and is based off of lwjgl. Hi all, there is currently no support for a 64bit VM running on Microsoft Windows 64. Although it may be possible to compile the C-code in that environment. I have been reading the "Space Invader 101, 102, 103 and 104" tutorials. I used 101 to build stendhal. They expose how to do a multiple renderer game, so we could use Java2D or OpenGL at will ( I think java 6 already support something like this for swing ). The main point on changing to OpenGL is that some effects would be simpler and faster to do, mainly the weather effect and the day/night effect. It is a low priority thing but when I start refactoring I will have a look to it.
