#930 Soup - Fish Soup relation

Ello :)

It seems like some players don't like the new fish soup because there isn't much difference from the normal soup which you can make in Fado, and there are just some XP more for the fish soup... Any ideas of how that can be better balanced?

Reduce the HP of the soup which ingredients are easier to get.

I like the fishsoup really :) but where are the differents to the fado-soup ?
sure you get 30xp-point more than in fado also 1 slot more in bag is occupied.
the hp show for this item a amount about 3500, mh i get only the amount for my level :(

Yes we started a discussion around that in the IRC yesterday and talked about possible changings to make the fish soup quest more attractive and have it more balanced in relation to the normal soup one... There are currently lots of ideas open around that and we will figure out, what would be the best choice hopefully soon :) If you have any ideas how the more balancing could be, you can comment here on that :) It would be really nice to get more ideas around that :) You can read the conversation log of the #arianne chat from yesterday at: http://stendhalgame.org/chat/2010-10-17.html and http://stendhalgame.org/chat/2010-10-18.html :)

    A Idea for a better balance ( fishsoup )

    cancel EXP-points !

    cancel Karma-points !

increased ATK-XP and Dev-XP about 0,001% of own XP

in the entire game i only know two events where do you do with ATK and DEV,
maybe more i do not know but it would be an good idea for balance in game ( special fishsoup ) :)

I don't like the idea to be honest of increasing the ATK and DEF stats with it... If someone has a huge amount of fishes, he will definetly have a major advantage in relation to others and I don't like that idea at all... I would maybe say, that reducing the normal soup to a normal HP level and making the fish soup special with having it as it is now (full HP) may be a good thing or having something like an antidote time included

P.s. It will be good to implement some of these changings early enough before the next release will take place, so please comment on the suggestions if you have a point of view in relation to that :)

New idea: changing the quest style, making the soup eally magic like means, that Florence finds some items randomly while making teh soup which she hands out to the players... Will try to work something out for that ;)

I wonder if the reason for not using fishsoup much is because some players did not get yet fishing rod. Me for example, I am still trying to pass exams :) If I finally pass I will do fishing to go and ask for this fishsoup

The threat is more in relation to the ones which complained about the fishing soup not being balanced enough in relation to the normal soup one :) The ingredients are harder to get and you just get the same reward out of it as the soup which needs less ingredients and is easier to make.

UNfortunetly I didn't manage it up yet to try something out like a special item list which FLorence can for example give randomly out (one of these items from the list) as some kind of special reward which she found while cooking the fish soup...

There is now a quest which requires fish soup. So I think this tracker item can be closed.
