There could be another status ailment called "zombie" or "undead" that can be inflicted by some undead monsters. The ailment would slow the player down so that they could only walk half speed.
this might be a problem for players which aren't strong enough and actually wanted to run away from these creatures, so it might be good to think a step further and work around not making it like players will constantly die :) (maybe soemthing like a new medicine thingy in relation to antidotes?)

Well, that was the point, to make it harder to run away. Perhaps half speed is too much, perhaps 3/4 speed. I'm just interested in seeing more status ailments in the game.
The idea is nice and having more brings some kind of variation into the game, like not just being poisoned by stuff but also experiencing other handicaps. I'm just concerned that lower levels will jump in such a trap when creatures have it which are mostly showing up in a bigger group and are easily reachable. This might cause some bigger problems for keeping the game fun up so it has to be well-balanced in a way from my point of view :)
You're definitely right about keeping it balanced. There are a lot of undead creatures, and actually, I think if this were to be implemented only zombies should inflict the ailment. 'Cuz everyone knows that if you get bit by a zombie you will become one yourself :p. The ailment should probably wear off after a certain amount of time, like poison, and there should be a item that cures it implemented, like holy water.
