Some nice items to be available in Stendhal would be rings that prevent poisoning. These rings should have a very low defense (if any at all) to discourage being used as a defensive item and should be somewhat rare, especially the more powerful ones, to maintain the in-game economy. Here are some examples:

Medicinal ring: Reduces chance of poisoning by 25%, DEF=0
Antivenom ring: Reduces chance of poisoning by 50%, DEF=0
Antitoxin ring: Nullifies chance of poisoning, DEF=1

If you would like to use the example ring images attached they are released under a BSD license. Stendhal and its authors are free to use them however they wish.

    There was a short discussion on 08.01.2013/09.01.2013 on IRC #arianne, logged at https://stendhalgame.org/chat/2013-01-08.html . I have to admit that I don't like the idea of having a ring with a chance of 0 to get poisened as though as it would really make antidotes useless. At the same time it would be kind of unfair to give high levels the chance to own such a ring as though as the poison effects often don't bring them into danger directly, just moving around is affected somehow (just arachne could be a danger because she poisons really fast and harder, but still, carrying antidotes with you for that might be enough).

    The ideas of having rings which reduce the chance of poisoning sound really good, but maybe one would be enough of these... like 25% percent or maybe karma related? (like good karma increases the % amount, bad karma reduces it, both in a range of 25-50%)

    The idea of a single ring that reduces chances of poisoning within the range of 25%-50%, depending on karma, sounds really good to me.

    I'm working on a ring and a quest right now. The ring is called a medicinal ring, and the NPCs I want to include are Klaas, Dr. Feelgood, a new apothecary NPC, and maybe a blacksmith.

    Ok :) Please take care that Dr. Feelgood has a quest already (Zoo Food), just that no problems between the old and new one appear :)

    Final result:

    medicinal ring: antipoison 0.25 (25%)
    antivenom ring: antipoison 0.5 (50%, available through quest)
    gm antitoxin ring: antipoison 1.0 (100%, summoned only)
