Aria Maestosa 1.4.10 released

Aria Maestosa 1.4.10 has just been released!

Unfortunately, a mistake slipped though in the Windows package, so if you are a Windows user and the latest version does not work for you, please download again, it should now be fixed.

Changes and new features include :

  • Enable looping a sub-portion of a song
  • Add support for bank select controller
  • Fix beat display for uncommon time signatures (7/8, 8/8, 2/2, ...)
  • Fix export bug when some controllers were used
  • Fix note velocity when sending playback to external device on OSX
  • Update tools look to be simpler and cleaner
  • Other bugfixes

Aria Maestosa 1.2 released!

Version 1.2 of Aria Maestosa has just been released! Aria Maestosa is a midi tracker/editor. It lets you compose, edit and play midi files with a few clicks in a user-friendly interface offering score, keyboard, guitar, drum and controller views.

This version brings many new features and improvements.
New features hightlights :
* Added a printing feature
* Added a close button on tabs
* A new editing tool that lets you add notes without dragging
* Clicking in the left area of editors will now play the clicked note
* Switched to unified (native) toolbar on mac
* Magnetic grid choice done with icons instead of text
* Better "Undo" menu (shows the name of the action to be undone)
* Better dialog when you close with unsaved changes
* Added an option to automatically launch TiMidity and pick port on linux (as well as other minor Linux improvements)
* Added pause button
* Added ability to maximize tracks
* Support for moving score one octave up or down (ottava basse/alta)
* Improved handling of on/off controllers, namely making sustain usable.
* Allowed moving notes by one octave with shift+up/down
* Allowed moving notes by one measure with shift+left/right
* You can now choose the default view for score editor in preferences
* It is now possible to see song length in song info window
* Added built-in docs viewer on mac
* Improved scale dialog
* Refactor of render system (allow software rendering where OpenGL is not available)
* Removed GLUT dependency from OpenGL renderer, giving anti-aliased fonts
* Refactored preferences to look better, be cleaner and allow setting a default value for "follow playback" and score render options
* Added track property dialog, where default note volume can be set in addition to background

Aria Maestosa 1.1 released

Version 1.1 of Aria Maestosa has just been released! Aria Maestosa is a midi tracker/editor. It lets you compose, edit and play midi files with a few clicks in a user-friendly interface offering score, keyboard, guitar, drum and controller views.

This version brings many new features and improvements.

* Added new score editor, making it possible to view and edit music using classical music notation, while still remaining intuitive and flexible.
* Totally new undo system that is faster, now works in controller editor too and allows multiple undos
* Fixed countless crashes, bugs and glitches
* Added mouse wheel support to vertically scroll tracks
* Added italian translation
* Linux port improved by leaps and bounds, slowly getting more stable
* Improved document icon
* Documents generated by Aria Maestosa are now much smaller than those generated using previous versions

Aria Maestosa 1.1b1 released

Version 1.1b1 of Aria Maestosa has just been released! Aria Maestosa is a midi tracker/editor. It lets you compose, edit and play midi files with a few clicks in a user-friendly interface offering keyboard, guitar, drum and controller views.

This version is a major step forward in taking Aria to Linux. Many problems about installation and features that did not work at all have been addressed. Furthermore, the Undo code has been entirely rewritten, and it is now faster, uses less memory and allows for multiple levels of undo. However, this code is relatively new and untested, hence this release being beta. Version 1.0!

Not without problems (the PPC verison was broken, and i had to remove the package and resumbit a new one, arrgh) Aria Maestosa 1.0 is now released!

It includes fixes for remaining minor bugs, it is also the first version to compile on Linux and be actually usable!
