Do you guys know if this focuser is compatible with ASIAIR? From what I've heard, they use INDI server but the only focuser they support (as per a discussion I found from last year) is their ZWO EAF. All my focusers are based on this project and I have ASIAIR on the way. I worry they might not work together and I don't want to be forced to buy EAF.

I just set up an Astroberry today and I noticed that it has INDI too but in the Kstars setup this focusers was listed in the equipment list. I'll know in a bit as I'm finishing up one and will be doing some connectivity testing soon

Short answer is no. the AISAIR is not opern source, details of their interface and protocol is owned by them and they are unlikely to budge or add support for products that they do not make.
Whilst it is okay for them to support mounts (they do not produce a mount) ad well as canon cameras, good luck with them trying to support a focuser other than theirs.
You are probably better asking them if their AISAIR supports focusers via ASCOM. If their answer is yes, then you are in luck,. If the answer is no, well then you know.
I read the user and instruction manual from cover to cover as well as other documents on their web site. Again, short answer is no.
Cheers

Thank you, Robert, for the detailed reply. ASIAIR is basically a Raspberry Pi and they use INDI server. I was hoping it would be possible to add the driver to the device since we can SSH to it. Alternatively, would it be possible to emulate the EAF focuser?

Sorry, as I said, you are asking something that potentially requires us to reverse engineer their protocol which is illegal.
As I said before, you need to talk to that company to see how you add a different INDI driver to their system, they may tell you what is required - their documentation is lacking with enough details though.

Yes, this focuser works with Astroberry, but my question is if it will work with ASIAIR. And if not, what needs to be done to make it work.

We have an INDI driver for the myFocuserPro2
Have you tried to load that?
We are not allowed to emulate other commercial focuser. We would be sued.
I haven't received my ASIAIR yet. Not emulate, but make it compatible? Just like the earlier version here was compatible with the Moonlite focuser.
