Hi folks,
sorry if this has already been covered.... I've built a 'basic' 8825 with the push buttons for my Meade sct. If I wish to add the push button control, whilst keeping pc control, do I just need to update to the 'full' firmware?
cheers
Terry

Hi Robert,
I'm using Focuserv257_DRV8825_HW203_M.ino firmware. My controller can be powered from pc for ascom contorol, or external power supply with push buttons for stand alone. I'm using a psu that supplys +5 and +12v, so I think that I'd be best off disconnecting the 5v supply from the usb to nano....what do you think?
cheers
Terry

No need to connect the 5V from the PSU
It should run fine off 12V as this goes to VIN and thus the nano uses its on-board voltage regulator to provide the 5V
I would not disconnect the 5v in the USB cable - a lot of computers use this for power management and cutting that wire could prevent the controller from connecting to the PC via USB

Hi Robert,
thanks for your help. I should have my installation finished in the next couple of days, and hopefully weather permitting give it a good test.
regards
Terry

Hi Terry
If you want to just add the PB code that is fine, no need to add lcd etc
Are you using the firmware file Focuserv257_DRV8825_HW203_M.ino
If not which one.
Let me know and I will add the PB code for you and post back here
Regards
Robert
