    Hi, everyone,
I am building a custom focuser based on this link:
    http://indilib.org/forum/focusers-filter-wheels/2073-astroberry-focuser-with-adafruit-motor-hat.html?start=72
    https://github.com/rkaczorek/astroberry-amh

I am using Darth Vader's bracket for Celestron 8 SE, i really appreciate his help.
Software wise, i uses Kstars with ekos and Indi.
Right now, i have completed the hardware installation and ready to test.

However, I have some questions about the intial system config, most puzzling part is the CFZ and max travel distance of the focuser. In Ekos, there are not so many parameters i need to set as in this project. It seems I only need to provide the max ticks for the focuser and step size.
So how do you guys compare this project to the astroberry-amh solution?

Lastly, any one here know the maximum travel distance that Celstron nextar 8SE focuser is? i looked up on Internet, the only relevant data i got is the max number of focus knob turn, which is 30. So if my motor is 200 steps. and my gear ratio is 1:6. Can i assume 302006 =36000 is the maximum ticks i should use?

    Thanks in advance.

    Wei

    Hi Wei
If you intend to use a fdocuser with Indi then you need to use one that has an Indi driver or one that is compatible with Moonlite protocol (and use the Indi built-in support for moonlite)

There are lots of other sites that do this, but the myfocuserpro2 is not indi or moonlite compatible.

    Regards
    Robert

There is now a Linux myFocuserPro2 application thatcan natively control a myfocuserpro2 controller under Linux.
