I have built the myfocuser pro 2 using the PCB rev12 but two things I have noticed the first is that the LEDs are incredibly faint and the second that the jog button speed is very slow. I have enabled both in the firmware code. I wondered if you might have any ideas. Mike

Do you have superslogjogging enabled in the firmware?
Yes the led's will be faint, esp when doing a short move with the push buttons or jogging.
A pulse is sent to the motor to move. 5 pulses = 5 steps. Each time a pulse is sent it can also light up the LED. The length of the pulse is very short, in the order of 5uS. So its a very short blip of the led.
During a long move, because te pulses are short BUT come in rapid succession, the LED does not have time to fully turn off before the next pulse arrives. Hence it glows brighter. Opposite for shorter moves and even more so for push buttons.
Yes the speed is slow for jogging and push buttons. If it was faster, and you were like watching the focus whilst jogging, then if it was fast it would be a game of ping pong - you would shoot fast best focus, and go whoops, try to go back, reversing direction, darn backlash comes into play, motor appears not to move, then it takes off and shoots past best focus on the other side, darn it, back again, more backlash etc etc etc. Just imagine if it was even faster at jogging. You would never be able to achieve any sort of reasonable focus because you cannot react fast enough and will always overshoot - and when overshoot happens - backlash is needed because you have to reverse direction - its a game of diminishing returns.
In other words jogging and push buttons are a poor choice when it comes to focusing. The odds are against getting good focus manually. Every astronomer finds this out in the beginning - turn the knob, looks better, turn it a bit more, just about perfect, turn it a bit more - oh stuff - too far - start over etc etc
The focuser is designed to support automatic focusing under software. Software can react so much faster than you can between your fingers and eyes.
If I was to design the focuser again I would not include push buttons or jogging.
