I have been using myFPR02 for ages with amazing results. I honestly cannot rememeber what version I was on but it was at least 18-24 months old. Last week I upgraded everything to the latest and now I have what appears to be backlash or stepsize issues. I have used all the same settings as previously. I think I may have missed some important upgrade info over the last couple of months.
I remember I had to turn backlash enabled on in the older versions but do not see this setting in the latest version
Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

Sorry about the monologue but maybe I will not waste someone else time. I re-installed the latest versions of everything and sat and redid my backlash steps this afternoon. They were completely different to what I had before. No idea why but I think things are back on track.

When upgarding from old versions - you can use the save settings feature to log all your settings to a file - easy to read text document
Program the controller with Cleareeprom first
Then program controller with latest firmire
Then remove old windows app and old ascom drivers (control panel)
Then install new windows app
Then install new ASCOM driver
Then run windows app and connect to controller and set all your settings
1: if you upgrade to new firmware from an old version - the setting are saved in eeprom
What happens is when the new firmware runs, it reads values from eeprom but they are all different and assigned to the wrong values - HENCE - run cleareeprom first to clear any old values out
Same applies fpr Windows app and ASCOM driver - each has a settings file - and so you are trying to use some old settings with a new app - again - removing application or driver removes those settings and so when the new program i= installed, it creates a new settings file with things in the correct order etc.
I did try to make this easy by providing the ability to save your settings, do an upgrade - then restore the settings into the new enviroment. PDF explains it all.
Cheers
Robert

Thank you Robert. I completely forgot about the ClearEEPROM part. No wonder I had some strange behaviour
