Hello,
I'm new here.
I happened to hear about this ingenious project and immediately got rid of my old Arduino Uno and the L298 bridge and tried to make a Focuser as minimal as possible. But unfortunately the "Focuserv274_L298N.ino" firmware, and also the 273, does not seem to get along with my L298. The test firmware both work and my motor is controlled and the control LEDs on the L298 board are flashing but at the actual firmware these LEDs suddenly flash completely different. Either only the lights for engine 1 or the engine 1 and a LED of engine 2 depending on whether I drive in or out but never all 4 as in the test firmware. I've redirected the IN1 - IN4 to LED's to see what happens then ... all 4 LED's flashed like the LEDs on the L298 board at the test firmware ... but the engine is still not running.
I have only one Arduino UNO, to be replaced by a NANO, and the L298 without LED, display, buttons, etc. 4 cables from the Arduino, pin 16-19, to the L298 board IN 1-4 and then just the engine. I would like to control the Focuser only by PC and do not exhale therefore all that and would like to obstruct parts as little as possible.
That would have to work without the remaining components of the parts list? As I said the test firmware works correctly only the Focuserv274_L298N.ino firmware is not.
Does anyone know the problem and can help me?

Please send a clear photo of your L298 bridge. The L298N boards recommended do not have any LEDs.
So you may have a wrong board.
Hello, I'm just on vacation, unfortunately, can only take a screenshot of a video from the L298 board. The board and the Arduino are from a camera timelapse slider project by me and everything works great here. I have now just taken the parts to make their Focuser because I did not want to wait until after the holidays when the Arduino Mini and the other L298 board comes. from the board so far I have only a picture of eBay that I can post here, as I have seen that is without LEDs.
But I have the picture on my handy not online.

That looks like the correct board - no leds.
Hi Guys,
I'm back from vacation and have found my ordered Arduino Nano in the mailbox, the new L298N unfortunately not.
And have also seen that there is a new software 275 and of course have the same time tested with the old hardware, Arduino Uno and L298 with LEDs and what can I say with 275 Does it work with the 274 it does not work.
Hope that the new L298N arrives the days and then I can install and connect everything on a board.

v275 was never going to work with your existing board but the L298N when it arrives should be a different story
