Error Report when trying to connect to myfocuserpro2 using Windows Main App with Firmware v:278

    Hello Mr Brown:

With regard to your email to me, I did verify that the firmware in the controller was version 298, and it was connected to my Windows 7 computer, and I went to the Device Manager, and under the Ports, the Com Port #6 did see the processor: it read: USB-Serial CH340 (COM6).

The reason I am running version 298, is that makes the display disply all pages and not just one. Version 300 only displayed one page.

I did try to use the Windows Main App, and checked Error logging, and was able to capture the error, to which I will post here:

I even tried this app on the solderless version of myfocuserpro2, and got the same results.

Just to let you know, I always run the Clear Eprom Routine, before I load any program into the Nano Processor.

However, when you instructed me to enter :GV# into the serial monitor, I get no response, even with the controller connected to the computer.

From my viewpoint, I see that the Nano processor is receiving the request from the computer, but is not acting upon giving out the needed info to the computer, and the computer times out.

I wish we could solve this problem, as it is driving me insane.

I would be willing to send you the controller and let you see for yourself, I am not crazy. :)

    William

    Hi
Not accusing you of being crazy. Just trying to help.

10/9/2020 7:15:29 PM: Connect: Timeout Exception for command ::02#
10/9/2020 7:15:29 PM: Connect: Error message: System.TimeoutException: The operation has timed out.

Clearly shows the controller is not responding.

At this point I would recommend
    1. Uninstall Arduino IDE using control panel, wait for the uninstall to finish
    2. Reboot computer
    3. Install Arduino 1.8.13, and when asked, install drivers
    4. After install, try to reprogram controller with latest firmware 130 [do not change anything in the file]
    5. Report back what happened

    Regards
    Robert

      Hello Robert:
Question:  In the Arduino Programmer, under Tools, what Programmer should I be using?  There are several to choose from.  I have reloaded Arduino 1.8.13 into the computer.  I am just waiting on you to tell me where to find Firmware 130.
      Thanks Again!William
