I built a focuser using the project plans for MyFocuser2. Everything is set up and is working great with my Newtonian scope. However I would now like to build a focuser for my CT80 refractor (typically my guide scope but would like the option to do some AP work with it.). My question is: is it possible to run two instances for MyFocuser2 with different settings? Or would I need to change all of the settings dependant on which scope I'm using?
I'm open to any suggestions if someone else has ever attempted this.
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
Two instances no, the application uses a settings file so you cannot run two instances of the same app or same driver - BUT you can control two or more focusers at the same time!
the pdf has details
If only windows
Windows app - focuser 1
Windows mini app - focuser 2
If both windows and ascom
windows app - focuser 1 or focuser 2
ascom driver - focuser 2 or focuser1
or ASCOMAPP talking to focuser2 or focuser1 using ascom driver
if ascom
ascom driver - focuser1
ascom1 driver - focuser2
You cannot run two instances of a particular driver or windows app as they use an application settings file
Regards
Robert
