The Raster Editor provides handy manual value editing function for raster image in ArcMap.
Current version: 1.0.1
Choose the raster layer that you want to edit at the Raster Layer ComboBox. For the current version, be sure that a file should not be double loaded and not contain multiple layers.
Click the Start Editing at Editor menu. While a layer is being editing, the layer combobox is disabled.
Note: While initializing editing function, the ArcMap may lose response for a moment. That`s normal.
Users can activate the Select tool (next to the Raster Layer ComboBox) only while they are editing a layer. Once the tool is activated, the ROI can be selected by dragging box on the screen, which is very similar to selecting feature elements.
Values can be edited at the dataGridView of Raster Edit window. Make sure your input value is compatible with the pixel type of the raster layer. Any pixel that is left blank will be considered as NoData Pixel.
Edited values will be displayed using bold font and corresponding pixels will be covered with yellow diagonal lines on the screen. You can hide or show these indicating lines at the Editor menu.
If you want to know the original value, select on the selected pixel and find it at status bar at the bottom.
More editing options are provided at the Options button. These following tools enable you to edit the whole ROI or customized region rapidly:
User can save edits to the original file or save as other file in format .tiff and .img. It takes two or three seconds to save into file, so do not close the ArcMap immediately after saving edits. The Raster Editor supports those most used pixel type, if pixel type of your file is very specific, check [Supported Pixel Type].
Be careful that stop editing will discard all edits that have not been saved and exit the editing mode. If the editing layer is removed from the ArcMap, the editing will immediately stop.
