Emulating RISCOS on a fast PC (3.8GHz) I found that I couldn't double-click on anything. I wondered if this was because the (emulated) double-click time was too short. Of course, to change the timing I have to run !Configure: but I can't run anything until I have changed the timing!
The solution was to copy everything to a really slow PC, boot up, run !Configure,
change the timing (to 100), and copy everything back again.
Now I can double-click!
Note: I get the same problem with the keyboard repeat timings.
Can the default be changed, or is there a way to change it from outside the emulator (eg editing the hexcmos file)

A simpler solution is as follows
1. Single-click Apps on the Icon Bar to open the directory.
2. Drag !Configure to the Icon Bar, and it will run.
3. Adjust the double-click period to a large value, e.g. about 100.
A similar problem occurs with the keyboard autorepeat, with a similar solution.
