I've found that gfortran does not have the -fcase-preserve option. This means, it does not correctly interpret the names of the functions in adapter f2aquaterm.m. The only workaround I found was to change all function names in f2aquaterm to lower case letters - which makes them rather unreadable ... :-(
Further, working with bitmaps requires the option -fno-range-check - but this seams to simply switch the range check off, no warning! So, I guess, one has to be careful.
