I completely support the idea of people making contributions but, as a user, I will never touch them if they don't come from the project's web site/CVS server. I think that his email was a bit unclear as to the intended audience. I am sure you will and that's why I will ONLY use what you as the project leader supplies. There are good reasons for a central distribution of Open source code.
