Bumpy and normal: 3deligth vs AQSIS

As attachment, an archive containing one RIB file, one TIFF grayscale image to be used as a texture for displacement and two render results, one with AQSIS, the other with an old 32 bits version of 3Delight.
The geometry in the RIB, is an ugly mug, made of a cylinder, a disk and a torus as its handle. The standard bumpy displacement shader is applied using the texture generated from the gray‑scale image.
Render differs at the handle: for AQSIS, the displacement is a bump, while for 3Delight, it's a groove.
Which is right and which is wrong?
On the cylinder, it's rendered as a bump with both.
P.S. My apologies for the erroneous milestone: it should be
non_fatal
instead offatal/crash
. Unfortunately, I can't change it, it's too late.
