I'm functionally illiterate as far as coding goes, but I'd be willing to
contribute some funds -- as well as possibly sacrifice an installation to a
    beta, if needed.

So, since Lion has been released, does anyone know if the current version of
AppleJack works with it? I've read from other software developers that they
will be releasing updates since Lion handles many processes different than
Snow Leopard (and prior). So, to the AppleJack creator - if you will be
updating & need assistance (both monetary and testing) let us know.

AppleJack has always been a great diagnostic/repair tool for OS X, especially
since it works in Single User Mode. IMHO, the less running the better.

From what I read, AJ 1.6 works on Lion, except for repairing perms!!! This
also means it won't run in AUTO mode, but it still does it's magic, apparently
without danger to Lion. Thank heavens!

Having used AJ for a while on previous OS X versions as a quick diagnostic
tool for the boot disk, I'm glad to hear it works on Lion - albeit with a few
limitations. Lion does have the new RecoveryHD which allows you to do simple
diagnostics too, and a new program Micromat called ProToGo ($69) allows the
user to create their own emergency disk, which simplifies the installation of
a minimal OS X on a flash drive, SSD, etc. But nothing beats the simplicity of
AJ, it just sits there all the time in the background waiting for you to ask
    it to do its stuff.
