applejack6;imac summer 2010; 3.06, 12 gb; imac 11,2; intel core i3; snow leopard 10.6.5; I was wanting to test OtherWorld Memory 8GB which I had just added to imac;
mac newbie
downloaded applejack 1.6 from ???
read readme
installed NOT as single user by clicking on open box in install window; no options came up during install (I was looking for custom so that I could install memtest option as described in readme
boot into single user mode
no chance for memtest and I did not expect one
I quit applejack and restarted imac; I did not do a memtest
i am reluctant to try expert mode as suggested on website and pick memtest in expert mode because expert mode is in beta (as i recall).
I did make a mistake booting into single user mode; I first held down control and S and opposed to to apple S; what happened with control S was that not blank screen until i let go of control S, and then imac appeared to boot normally; I shut down and then booted into single user mode with apple S and tried applejack as above.

SHOULD I reinstall applejack ???
DO i need to install applejack from terminal window for "sustom"
Should I wait until 1.7???
