"applejack auto restart" --- during permissions repair, I get a scrolling series of temperature warnings ---- it eventually just shutsdown. No audible fan action going. The bottom of the unit does
get hot.
Steve, despite my misgivings, perhaps we should go ahead and put this into the next release. It's a trade-off between loading another set of extensions (and the possible issues there), or it meaning that some users can't run permissions repair if their machines get too hot.

I'll starting looking what what we need running, I'm not entirely sure what I had loading pre the 1.5 release was entirely accurate; sometimes it seemed to work, other times less so. Hopefully we can find a way to load single kernel extensions in SUM, rather then load kext.plist as before.

Change --- I DO have fans after applying the 10.5.5 Combo Updater and uninstalling/re-installing AJ. It takes longer now --- but the temperature warning still comes repeating/scrolling ("Power emergency overtemp signal. Going to sleep!"), followed by a shutdown. The log only shows the beginning of Permission repairs:
My work-around is to watch AJ/ skip permission repairs and do that with Disk Utility. I have noticed, even with DU, that Permission Repairs has become a slow major process in Leopard --- instead of the fairly simple quicky that it used to be ---
