Hey guys,

today I wanted to try your this audio play, which makes
an awesome impression !

Anyway, the installation worked fine, but when I try to
play a file I get the error message "cant read volume,
has given up! is your soundcard properly configured ?".

Here's my system:
Gentoo with (2.6.X Kernel; Alsa compiled in the kernel)
Qt 3.X installed
compiler with qmake
without kde support
with stl
with mpg123 (i also checked that mpg123 works and the
correct path is used ...)

Anway I compiled with current 1.4.3-1 version (I also
tried the ebuild of version 1.4.2 but I got the same
error in both cases ...

hopefully somebody here can help me,

regards Samir :)

I'm sorry to hear that you have a problem.

Unfortunately I have never seen that error before. In fact,
I'm pretty sure that error message is not given by Apollo,
although I could be wrong. The reason is that it has been a
long time since any of us has worked on Apollo.

I don't even have Linux installed anymore so I'm afraid
there's nothing I can do to help you. And I know it doesn't
help, but thanks for your interest :-)

    Hey Mariuss,

    thanks for you answer !

Well, I wonder where this problem should come from if it's
not Apollo, because other audio player are working fine.

Anyway since you don't have linux installed anymore, I
wonder if there are any active developers ?

    greets Samir ^^

I don't know where it's coming from. It could be Apollo.
Search all of the Apollo files for the text to see :-)

No, there are no active developers on Apollo anymore.
