this is odd because when you boot live from thumbdrive it doesn't ask you any password ever... There is few options such as apodio live or install and some others if you let it boot by defaut on live it should run up to the main xfce apodio screen with a blue insect and apodio 13 written on it. I think it's important when you have a slow connection and you could loose packets on the way down, also Browser such as firefox now tend to find the little bits that you might loose.
