[Apc-aa-coders] Adding fields - why the ....1

When I add a field in se_fields, (Fields editor) it always appends 
the ....1 on the end,

Is there a reason for this? It means for example that if you delete a 
field, then there is no way to add it back in again.

E.g.  Delete Code Page (cp_code.........) and then add back Code Page 
and you get cp_code........1
