Hi Frank -

Offhand, I remember somewhere along the line there being difference between the architecture triplet between versions of MALOC and APBS, which might explain why APBS can't find the MALOC libraries.

In the current version of MALOC (0.1.2), for my example system MALOC places the libraries in ${PREFIX_DIST}/lib/i686-pc-linux, but I remember a time when either MALOC or APBS was looking for the "i686-pc-linux-gnu" directory.  So you might want to see where MALOC actually placed its libraries, and then if it's anything like the situation I mention you can symbolically link to where that version of APBS thinks the libraries should be.

Hopefully this helps!  If not, feel free to send your config.log over.

Todd

Backwards support isn't terribly high on our priority list :) but if
you send the config.log, we might be able to figure out what's going
on.

Thanks,

Nathan
