1. Cut & paste a column of text into a new window.
2. CTRL-H to bring up the find/replace window.
3. Tick the regular expression checkbox.
4. Enter $ in the find what text box.
5. Enter anything in the 'replace with' text box.
6. Click 'replace all'
Program goes off into noddy land. From the behaviour of
the scroll bar at the bottom, looks like the find
replace is looping on the first line
