On 2014-06-25, Alex Barker wrote: > Its pretty much dead but it is still used by a lot of projects. There is no active development, that's correct. And ant-contrib is completely independent of the Ant developers (even though some Ant developers have contributed to ant-contrib). OTOH there still seem to be people around who'd jump in if a serious bug was raised. At leat I'm not aware of any security vulnerability that wouldnhave been brought up to the team. Stefan |

If you do find a specific bug, do post it to this mailing list. I keep an eye on the list, but not on the source forge project so much anymore. This is one of those projects where things work well as is and there really isn't much need to "fix" things. Its pretty much dead but it is still used by a lot of projects. Most of the tasks in the core are usable, but stay away from the cpptasks extension. If you do run into a problem, don't expect to get a whole lot of support or have any bugs fixed. Hey guys, I am trying to use ant-contrib in my company. It reduces a 6000 line ant script to 300. But one of ours guys raising concerns saying. Ant-contrib is not supported by ant community. He says there is no active forum for support. He is raising security vulnerabilities. Basically anything to stay away from changing the 6000 line code that he wrote. Does ant-contrib have an active community for support. Anything else I can show to alleviate the security concerns? Please let me know. Thanks Madhan. |

Do I need to add new adaptor to have support for this new compiler or I can extend existing cctasks to use any gcc based compiler? details of compiler: target OS: VxWorks CPU: ARM7 Host: Windows compiler name: ccarm and c++arm Kindly suggest best solution to get my existing code with new compiler. Thanks and Regards, Bhushan |

The following forum message was posted by ihovav at http://sourceforge.net/projects/ant-contrib/forums/forum/113701/topic/6524204: hi I'm using ant-contrib for-loop to execute java tasks on a list of values, for that I added a task of my own that extends the "net.sf.antcontrib.logic.ForTask" class. 1. I want to have the ability to break the for loop from the java task execution, does there any way to do so? 2. I also want to add "while" and "do-while" loops, is there any way to do it? 3. is there a way to change the for-loop list during execution or to change the current iteration item in the list? (it might resolve both break and while issues even if there are no such solutions available...) thanks for your help! Hovav |

However, I have been able to work around the problem by using runant instead of runtarget. In you original example this would mean, use [code]<remoteant machine="localhost" port="12345"> <runant antfile="antServer.xml" target="testMessage"> </remoteant>[/code] instead of [code]<remoteant machine="localhost" port="12345"> <runtarget target="testMessage"/> </remoteant>[/code] |

The following forum message was posted by gw1500se at http://sourceforge.net/projects/ant-contrib/forums/forum/113701/topic/5069152: I believe I have found a bug in replaceregexp when it is used in a build file and run in background. I've searched for this particular error but nothing seems to address what is happening to me. I have a build file that works perfectly from the command line. However, if I run the build in background (i.e. no console) I get the error: BUILD FAILED /var/www/html/Applets/KCBSEvents/makejar.xml:39: Couldn't rename temporary file /tmp/replace8780274197734535594.txt at org.apache.tools.ant.taskdefs.optional.ReplaceRegExp.doReplace(ReplaceRegExp .java:480) at org.apache.tools.ant.taskdefs.optional.ReplaceRegExp.execute(ReplaceRegExp.j ava:520) at org.apache.tools.ant.UnknownElement.execute(UnknownElement.java:291) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39 ) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl .java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:597) at org.apache.tools.ant.dispatch.DispatchUtils.execute(DispatchUtils.java:106) at org.apache.tools.ant.Task.perform(Task.java:348) at org.apache.tools.ant.Target.execute(Target.java:390) at org.apache.tools.ant.Target.performTasks(Target.java:411) at org.apache.tools.ant.Project.executeSortedTargets(Project.java:1399) at org.apache.tools.ant.Project.executeTarget(Project.java:1368) at org.apache.tools.ant.helper.DefaultExecutor.executeTargets(DefaultExecutor.j ava:41) at org.apache.tools.ant.Project.executeTargets(Project.java:1251) at org.apache.tools.ant.Main.runBuild(Main.java:809) at org.apache.tools.ant.Main.startAnt(Main.java:217) at org.apache.tools.ant.launch.Launcher.run(Launcher.java:280) at org.apache.tools.ant.launch.Launcher.main(Launcher.java:109) Caused by: java.io.IOException: Failed to delete /var/www/html/Applets/KCBSEvents/src/KCBSEvents/resource/build.properties while trying to rename /tmp/replace8780274197734535594.txt at org.apache.tools.ant.util.FileUtils.rename(FileUtils.java:1307) at org.apache.tools.ant.taskdefs.optional.ReplaceRegExp.doReplace(ReplaceRegExp .java:474) I found a similar problem on bugzilla but it has been around a long time with no activity other than a recent update by me. However, at the time I thought it was an ANT problem but looking at the trace it seems specific to replaceregexp. Am I the only one that has encountered this and if not, is there a workaround? TIA. |

Hi, Is it by design that <sysincludepath> task using GCC translates to -I (normal include) instead of -isystem (system include) on GCC? Intuitively, I'd assume that it would use -isystem since that is how you include system headers in GCC. Is there a way I can manually change this functionality to use -isystem instead? I am looking through the codebase and I can't seem to find out where this translation is done. Thanks, J |

Hi, Is there a way to output all GCC warnings to a file and ONLY output errors to the console? I am using the CC task (http://ant-contrib.sourceforge.net/cpptasks/antdocs/CCTask.html) to build and I can't seem to find a way to do this. Thanks, J |

The following forum message was posted by duccio1969 at http://sourceforge.net/projects/ant-contrib/forums/forum/113701/topic/4886029: I, recently I had to modify the antclipse code of version [b]1.0b3[/b]: I would like to explain here what I did and why. I'm working on a quite big project that has been split into subprojects: the structure of the main folders is like this: |-- gsd_base/.classpath |-- ... `-- gsd_ef/.classpath the content of gsd_base/.classpath is [code] <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <classpath> <classpathentry kind="[b]src[/b]" path="src/java"/> <classpathentry kind="[b]src[/b]" path="src/conf"/> <classpathentry kind="[b]src[/b]" output="target/test-classes" path="src/test"/> <classpathentry exported="true" kind="con" path="org.eclipse.jdt.launching.JRE_CONTAINER"/> <classpathentry exported="true" kind="var" path="MAVEN_REPO/junit/jars/junit-4.10.jar" sourcepath="/MAVEN_REPO/junit/jars/junit-4.10-src.jar"/> ... <classpathentry kind="output" path="target/classes"/> </classpath> [/code] while the content of gsd_ef/.classpath is [code] <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <classpath> <classpathentry kind="src" path="src/java"/> <classpathentry kind="src" path="src/conf"/> ... <classpathentry kind="lib" path="/home/duccio/.maven/repository/xerces/jars/xml-apis-2.5.0.jar"/> <classpathentry kind="lib" path="/home/duccio/.maven/repository/xmlunit/jars/xmlunit-1.3.jar"/> [b]<classpathentry combineaccessrules="false" kind="src" path="/gsd_base"/>[/b] <classpathentry kind="output" path="target/classes"/> </classpath> [/code] in this case, antclipse did not work for me, because it did not understand the "src" kind and the "inter project" classpath entry (in bold). I was able to make antclipse working patching the file ClassPathTask.java (for [b]1.0b3[/b] version), here is the output of the [i]diff[/i] command: [code] 17a18,19 > import java.util.ArrayList; > import java.util.List; 51a54 > protected List recursivePaths = new ArrayList(); //modified by d.v.: avoid double-processing 180a184 > protected static final String ATTR_VAR = "var"; //by d.v.: I need to manage also eclipse variables 376a381,402 > > /* d.v.: do variable replacement: into my ANT build.xml file I use a <property file="" /> tag > * to set the variable's values */ > if (kind.equalsIgnoreCase(ATTR_VAR)) { > > kind = ATTR_LIB; //change type: after variable substitution this tag is like a "lib" tag... > String[] pathSplit = path.split("/"); > StringBuilder newPath = new StringBuilder(); > for (int i = 0; i < pathSplit.length; i++) { > if (i == 0){ //I assume the VARIABLE is used just as a PREFIX in the file path > String propertyName =pathSplit[i]; > String propertyValue = getProject().getProperty(propertyName); > if (propertyValue == null) { > throw new BuildException("property must be defined: " + propertyName); > } > newPath.append(propertyValue); > } else { > newPath.append("/").append(pathSplit[i]); > } > } > path = newPath.toString(); > } 409,413c435,453 < //THIS is the only specific code < if (verbose) < System.out.println("Adding " + path + " to classpath " + idContainer); < PathElement element = this.path.createPathElement(); < element.setLocation(new File(path)); --- > /* modified by d.v. -- start */ > if (kind.equalsIgnoreCase(ATTR_SRC) && path.startsWith("/")) { > // I'm including a project -> recursion is needed... > // I assume that the name of the project and its path on disk are equals > File classpath = new File(getProject().getBaseDir().getParentFile(), path + "/.classpath"); > if (!recursivePaths.contains(classpath.getAbsolutePath())) { //avoid double-processing > recursivePaths.add(classpath.getAbsolutePath()); > if (verbose) > System.out.println("parsing " + classpath); > new ClassPathParser().parse(classpath, this); > } > } else { //d.v: this is the "default" behaviour > // THIS is the only specific code > if (verbose) > System.out.println("Adding " + path + " to classpath " + idContaine |

The following forum message was posted by shumalaskar33 at http://sourceforge.net/projects/ant-contrib/forums/forum/113701/topic/2066721: Yes as Brian mentions above it did work on my machine when he passed that project over to me few years back, and had to redo this on another machine after so many years and still had the same issue. I got it working now by including the following jar in ant's lib folder: xerces-2.6.2.jar Cheers. |
