      <cc compiler="g++" outfile="filemonkey" outtype="executable" debug="true">
          <fileset dir="${src.dir}" includes="*.cpp""/>
         <libset libs="xerces-c glu32 opengl32"/>
      </cc>

      Which should do -g instead of -ggbd.  If you really need to do -ggdb, then

      <cc compiler="g++" outfile="filemonkey" outtype="executable">
          <fileset dir="${src.dir}" includes="*.cpp""/>
         <libset libs="xerces-c glu32 opengl32"/>
        <compilerarg value="-ggdb"/>
      </cc>

      thanks,
      now I am getting "could not create task of type: cc"

      reading the docs I am confused as to which is the right way to declare the task. It seems to change depending on where you look. The website is different than what you download.

      this is what i have.

      <taskdef resource="net/sf/antcontrib/antlib.xml" />
      <taskdef resource="cpptasks.tasks"/>
      <typedef resource="cpptasks.types"/>

      and the contrib jar is in anthome/lib
