-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, you can stop the service with the appropriate management console (services) and switch the startup type to 'Manual'. but you should consider that the service can be usefull: There is also a local user group 'USB-Access' as configured in winset.tpl. You only have to setup a global user group (e.g. 'USB-Users-GLB') in the domain and add all users you want to that group. Finally you have to add that global user group to the local group 'USB-Access'. You can achieve this with ANI by editing the winset.tpl as follows: - ---snip--- [fillgroup_lcl] Floppy-Access=anithing CDROM-Access=anithing USB-Access=anithing ; --------------------------------------------------------------- ; filling local user groups with global accounts ; Syntax <local group>=<user1/group1>,<user2/group2>,... [fillgroup_glb] ;Administrators=<domainname>\<group or account> ;Floppy-Access=<domainname>\Floppy-User-GLB ;CDROM-Access=<domainname>\CDROM-User-GLB USB-Access=<domainname>\USB-Users-GLB - ---snip---- With this configuration only members of the global user group <domainname>\USB-Users-GLB have access to USB devices. You can also add users directly to the local group 'USB-Access': - ---snip--- USB-Access=<domainname>\<username> - ---snip--- or local users: - ---snip--- USB-Access=<localhost>\<username> - ---snip--- hope it helps _ H.
