High-Level Design Starting

It's starting with a rather poor xFig figure (their png export is crap with fonts...), but it's starting, and it's already looking good!
So, what are you waiting for? Go to http://anet.sourceforge.net/ !!!

Web site updated!

I don't like the way SourceForge stats work. It gives the false impression that our project is dead...

It's not dead! It's just starting!

Timezone blues

While I was going crazy through exams, assignments and projects, I tried to do a chat meeting on my computer, using Hotline 1.2.3 (a competitor :-) ), on April 1st.

Well, Ajaya was stuck behind a firewall, no one was there, caused by almost 15 hours of difference between California and India...

Some good ideas came up though, like using TCP instead of ICP, and the need for some GUI prototypes.

Anyways, I'll start back to fill in the web site and do the design (everyone's waiting for that) in two week, after my exams. After that, everything will be *really* fast, believe me.

ANet Web Site Starts

Slowly but surely (that's the motto of this project...), the Web Site (http://anet.sourceforge.net/) is starting. Tell me if you have any comments!

First Checkin

Wow! Our first checkin!
OK... I made some errors (can't delete a directory, can't we?), and the code that I ckecked in doesn't really work...

Oh well. Have to start with something...

As always, most of the activity (if any) is in the mailing lists. Somehow, their servers doesn't count the number of commit correctly, and the stats are "down" (though the number is raising...), so without these "news" and the mailing lists, everything looks like the project is dead.... read more

ANet now Pre-Alpha!

If "Pre-Alpha" means:
"we're starting to code even if we don't have any idea of what we're doing",
then ANet is now in Pre-Alpha stage!

As long as we're not wasting our time with conferences, I think it's OK...

Some code!

Some sample code for Linux's Inter-Process Communication (IPC) was uploaded this week in the public FTP site of ANet (ftp://anet.sourceforge.net/pub/anet/).

Docs in the... DocManager!

At last, you can read the docs in the DocManager of SourceForge's project page.

For now, most of the "action" is in the mailing lists, so feel free to read them.

(No, the project wasn't dead for a week. We were just all very busy... And the project statistics page is just screwed up anyways...)

Docs in the mailing lists!

The docs are now posted in the mailing list, at least until I'm able to create new docs...

Subscribe to the ANet mailing list!

ANet-general is for everyone, while ANet-devel is for developers only (only developers can post).

Read the documentation!

For now, we are only doing the specifications of ANet, and those specifications are placed in the documentation page. Good reading!
