Setting up Ubuntu for 0 Backup

Configuring Ubuntu Linux to receive the backup from 0 Backup is an easy task. The exact steps may depend on your configuration and the specific versión and edition of Ubuntu Linux, but the following steps will help you.

This guide may also be used for other Linux versions, such as Debian, RedHat...

1.-Find the IP address of your computer

You will need the IP address of your computer to configure 0 Backup. There are many ways to gather such information. For example, open a terminal by clicking on Applications-->Accessories-->Terminal:

Then, type /sbin/ifconfig and write down the shown IP address (in our example, 192.168.0.67):

2.-Create a folder and share it to the network

Right-click on the place where you want to store the backup (for example, your HOME or even the Desktop itself), select Create Folder and give it a name (for example phone backup):

Share the folder, by right-clicking on the newly-created folder, selecting Sharing options and selecting Share this folder:

If you have never shared anything before, Ubuntu will ask you to install the sharing services:

3.-Configure 0 Backup

Proceed to 0 Backup - Reference.
