Sorry for the late reply. This error has happened to several people
recently, we still haven't worked out why.

After having a quick look at the code: You might like to try disabling
the ZLIB compression mode, which might not work well properly in
Ubuntu 11.04. Unfortunately, this is fixed in the code, so there is no
option to disable it in the app; it would require a new build. If you
have some knowledge of building Android apps, you could checkout the
code and comment out the compression code, a bit like this -

Otherwise, I'll see if I sort you out a build with ZLIB compression
disabled. I'm pretty busy right now, but hopefully I'll find some time
during next week to sort it. It would be good to sort this problem out
once and for all.
