Remote Control

AnchorCast includes a built-in Wi-Fi remote control that lets you control the presentation from any phone, tablet, or browser on the same network — no app install required.

Accessing the Remote

Open a browser on any device connected to the same Wi-Fi network and go to:

http://[your-computer-ip]:5000/remote

Finding your IP address:

  • In AnchorCast: click Remote in the toolbar — the full URL is displayed
  • Or: open Command Prompt and type ipconfig → look for IPv4 Address

Example: http://10.0.0.60:8080/remote

Remote Interface

The remote has four mode tabs:

Tab Description
Scripture Search and navigate Bible verses
Songs Browse and present songs from your library
Media Browse and present media files
Slides Navigate presentation slides

Top Bar

  • Current song/verse — shows what is currently on screen
  • Projection preview — live thumbnail of the projection screen
  • ON AIR indicator — shows if the system is live

Action Buttons (Bottom)

  • ‹ Prev — go to previous slide
  • ✕ Clear — clear the projection screen
  • Next › — go to next slide
  • ● Present Song / Present Verse — send selected item live

PIN Authentication

The remote supports PIN-based access control with role-based permissions.

Setting Up PINs

  1. Go to Settings → Remote Control
  2. Enable PIN authentication
  3. Set PINs for each role:
Role Access
Admin Full control — all tabs and settings
Scripture Scripture tab only
Songs Songs tab only
Media Media tab only
Monitor View-only — can see the projection but not control it

Connecting with a PIN

When PIN auth is enabled, the remote shows a PIN entry screen. Enter the PIN for your role to connect.

Using the Remote During a Service

For the Worship Leader / Pastor

  1. Open the remote on your phone
  2. Log in with your PIN
  3. Use the Songs tab to navigate worship slides during praise
  4. Use the Scripture tab to quickly look up and present verses mid-sermon

For the Media Operator

The operator at the main computer sees the same state in real time. The remote and the main app stay perfectly in sync — advancing a slide on the remote advances it on the main screen and vice versa.

Troubleshooting

Can't connect to the remote

  • Make sure AnchorCast is running and not in Offline web mode
  • Check that your phone and the AnchorCast computer are on the same Wi-Fi network
  • Try the IP address shown in AnchorCast under the Remote toolbar button
  • Check Windows Firewall is not blocking port 5000/8080

Remote shows "Disconnected"

  • Refresh the browser page
  • Check that AnchorCast is still running on the operator computer

Actions not working on the remote

  • Check your role PIN has the required permissions
  • Admin role has full access to all actions
