Hello colleagues,

The tooling is really nice for logs analysis and I am using it a lot in my current work! Kudos for the great work!

I understand that each found entry has its row marked with breakpoint, but I would really appreciate if the same color styles will be applied in the documents itself.

To address the same problem, currently I am using Style tokens (http://docs.notepad-plus-plus.org/index.php/Marking_And_Highlighting) to mark the same strings, that I search for. However, this is a bit tedious when you search for more strings.

In my opinion, the best way to accomplish this could be to integrate your plugin with the highligh styles, by programatically adding the same styles and applying them in the file (if possible).

Please tell me what you think and if this will be achievable - I will try to assist (as I am also a software developer, even though I am Java focused and my C++ knowledge is a bit dusty)

Best regards,
Dimitar

    Hi Dimitar,
I'm so sorry to answer your post only so late. It got somewhat overlooked.
Regarding your request, I think this matches may activity regarding using the Scintiall-Lexer for coloring in the original document.
I did already som investigation how I could implement such colorization following the concept from Don.
However, I have a problem installing the lexer into AP. I will still continue working on this and let you know via this ticket when I made some steps. But, please wait - it's a quite big change, so don't expect this with quickly ;-)

    Thanks, Mattes

Lexer problem persists and time is running out again. I need to release w/o finishing this topic.

    Hi,

a proposal born out of discussion in Ticket 96 is to highlight more or less dynamically. Always that patterns which are "selected" in the pattern list or result window, and only as long as the focus is on the AP panels. May be this could be a quite interesting compromise regarding the conflict with the lexer assigned via the document type...
let me think on this further.
